How Does It Work?
The active ingredient in LoviOne is levonorgestrel - a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone progesterone which is produced by the ovaries. Levonorgestrel is believed to stop or delay ovulation (the release of an egg). It may also stop sperm from fertilising an egg if it has already been released.
In order to be effective, LoviOne needs to be taken as soon as possible. It is effective when taken within three days (72 hours) of unprotected sex.
